The data transmitted between a transceiver unit (1) and a terminal unit (2) have three different possible logic conditions represented by two different signal states. Each logic condition is represented by a 4-bit sequence, the first and last bit of which have a given logic value.Pref. the data are transmitted via an IR light signal with 4-bit sequence transmitted by the transceiver unit and a 4-bit sequence is transmitted by the terminal unit during the time duration of each logic condition.
