<p>A decorative element (10) comprises a layer of a fibrous material (20) having two opposed surfaces, at least one of which is a structured surface. The fibrous material layer is embedded in a transparent layer (12) that encloses both surfaces of the fibrous material layer. At least one of the boundary surfaces (14) of the transparent layer is arranged at a distance from the structured surface layer of fibrous material.
