The invention relates to compounds having a pharmacological activity in the central nervous system, having the capacity of traversing the blood-brain barrier after peripheral administration of said compound, and having the general formula (I) wherein A is O, N or S; R1 is (1) either: [sugar or desoxy sugar in C5 or C6, substituted or unsubstituted ]n in series D or L: n = 1 to 6, and the junction between the sugar and the phosphorous being on one of the hydroxyls at the apex 2, 3, 4 or 6; (2) or: (Ose) X - O - [(CH2)y - O]z - wherein Ose is a sugar in C5 or C6, D or L, the substitution of the chain 0 - [(CH2)y - O]z bearing on the hydroxyl of apex 1 of the sugar; x is an integer from 1 to 12; y is an integer from 1 to 6; z is an integer from 1 to 4; R2 is an alkyl group having from 6 to 30 carbon atoms, saturated or unsaturated, which may carry branches or cycles; N is a molecule susceptible of acting on the central nervous system. |
