An automatic machine for fitting heating resistors (7) to respective tubs for washing machines comprises conveyor belt (4) conveying the tubs (6) in succession and in a predetermined orientation to a fitting station (5). Feed means (12-16, 19,20) convey the resistors (7) in succession and in a predetermined orientation to a thrust head (21) aligned with an opening of the tub (6) which is in the fitting station (5).
