The detection method of tape leftover has five steps including the first step of putting the normal velocity of the tape into memory; the second step of sensing the tape velocity of the supply reel and the take up reel; the third step of calculating the total length of the tape by using the information in the memory; the fourth step of figuring out the thickness of the tape by using the information in the memory; the final step of computing the length of tape to be played by using the calculated thickness of the tape.
