The present invention relates to a method for reinforcing a structure to be formed in soil, wherein a vein-like structure to be reinforced is formed by locally processing the soil and by adding a stabilizing or consolidating additive into said processed soil. Said additive is mixed into the soil to form a consolidated vein (8) or zone. According to the invention a separate shearing and/or tensile forces resistant reinforcement material (13) is further added to the wake (4) comprising soil and consolidated additive mixed therein.
