Alerting device for driver of double-parked goods vehicle

The alerting device uses a radio receiver which is carried by the driver upon leaving the vehicle and a transmitter (2) within the vehicle, activated by a switch (3) for transmitting a driver alerting signal. The switch is brought into operation by a third person, e.g. via a sensor (6) responsive to banging on the vehicle the transmitter coupled to an external transmitter (4).The switch may be located adjacent the top or bottom edge of the vehicle windscreen, the sensor responding to the vibration caused by attempted starting of the vehicle to alert the driver.
