The invention concerns a packaging unit for fruit, the unit comprising a dish-shaped bottom part and a top part which can be secured in place over the bottom part to cover fruit protruding over the level of the rim of the bottom part, thus holding the fruit in place. The invention consists in the fact that, when the packaging unit is empty, the top part (2) is partly or wholly corrugated or zig-zag in shape so that it can stretch elastically at right angles to that rim of the top part (2) which is secured to the bottom part (1). This enables relatively large fruit of various sizes to be packed automatically. |
