A hose assembly 60 comprises a reinforced hose an end of which surrounds at least part of an end fitting 61, having a tail portion 64 which lies inwards of the hose, the outer surface of the end fitting being provided with at least a first retention bead 62 spaced axially from said tail end. A main hose reinforcement carcass comprising a plurality of layers of reinforcement 74a, 74b extends axially over said retention bead 62 and an inner lining layer 71 is positioned inwards of the carcass to provide a smooth bore 72 contiguous with the bore of the end fitting. A rubber interlayer 78 is arranged to separate one or more reinforcement layers 74a from the other layers 74b and to extend along the length of the hose to act as a secondary lining layer. <IMAGE> |
