Antagonists of human IFN- gamma are provided which are based upon a critical region of the human IFN- gamma receptor. Examples of such antagonists, which mimic, comprise or specifically bind to the critical region or the receptor, are polypeptides and antibodies or fragments thereof. Also provided are compositions and methods for inhibiting the biological activity of human IFN- gamma . |
