Liq. phase is brought into contact with a gaseous-liq. medium in a process and assembly to control the progress of a reaction within a loop reactor honeycomb body. The novelty is that in this process, effective conversion of gas or vapour is effected on catalytic walls, past which there is a parallel flow of liq., the flow of which is controlled with reference to a consecutively progressing reaction A B C; further that this is achieved by virtue of the fact that in a fast version of the pre-reaction A B the gas-liq. arrival in the catalytic honeycomb is guided through passages with a smaller contact overall area, whereas with a fast post-reaction B C, the interplay of the three phases takes place on a larger contact surface.Honeycomb (2,2') bodies of different cross-section are arranged in an axial sequence within the reactor, to fill the column mantle (1) in whole or in part.
