Equipment for continuous crosslinking of a long length of prod. consists of a heating zone where the prod. is freely suspended, followed by a cooling zone completely filled with cooling fluid. The prod. (1) is held above the base (27) of the cooling tube (25) by raised areas (29) at right angles to and facing the moving prod. (1).Raised areas have a defined spacing and are created by: i) deformation fo the cooling tube (25) wall; or ii) plates with a beaded section; or iii) rollers. The cooling zone may comprise several tubes (25) connected together.
