Process for producing a high-grade fertilizer from rumen contents.

For the production of high-grade fertiliser, rumen contents are mixed with comminution and breaking up with sawdust and/or chopped straw and fine-grained sand in a volume ratio of about 9:3:1 to 6:3:1 and then subjected to composting in stacks with weekly turning over. After completion of the fermentation, the material can be screened, the coarse fractions being further composted and the fine fractions being utilisable as finished fertiliser.
