The system transfers a composite image from a photoconductive drum or belt (10) to receiving media using stations supplying cyan, yellow, magenta and black liq. toner. An intermediate transfer film or belt (34) is between the photoconductive surface and the stations. The transfer member has a main polyester layer (35) with a release layer (37) of fluoro-silicon or crosslinked siloxane material on the outer surface. The composite image is formed on the release layer which is pref. 3 microns thick. The main layer is pref. 0.25-0.5 mil thick.
