This invention provides a series of novel substituted 7H-benzimidazo¢2,1-a!benz¢de!isoquinoline-7-ones, and the pharmaceutically acceptable salts or solvates thereof. This invention further provides methods of treating susceptible neoplasms in mammals using these 7Hbenz1midazo¢2,1-a!benz¢de!isoquinoline-7-ones. This invention additionally provides novel pharmaceutical formulations comprising one or more of the compounds of this invention in combination with pharmaceutically acceptable diluents, excipients and carriers.
