<p>PURPOSE:To improve the filtration efficiency and to increase the throughput of a molten metal filtration device by providing a filter consisting of an upper half cylinder part having coarse pores and a lower half cylinder part having fine pores, between a molten metal inlet chamber and a molten outlet chamber and filtering the molten metal by passing it through the upper half cylinder part and thereafter further filtering it by the lower half cylinder part. CONSTITUTION:This molten metal filtration device is provided with the horizontal, cylindrical and hollow filter 8 consisting of the upper half cylinder part 13 having coarse pores and the lower half cylinder part 14 having fine pores between the molten metal inlet chamber 3 and the molten metal chamber 4. An A1 molten metal stored in the molten metal inlet chamber 3 is filtered by the upper half cylinder part 13 to remove large inclusions and then the A1 molten metal filtrate is stored in the hollow part 15 of the filter 8. Thereafter, the molten metal filtrate is further filtered by the lower half cylinder part 14 to remove small inclusions.</p> |
