<p>PURPOSE:To provide the subject curing accelerator comprising a cobalt soap and dipyridyl, shortened in its drying time, improved in the luster of a coating film and in adhesivity, and useful for coating materials, printing inks, etc. CONSTITUTION:The objective curing accelerator comprises a cobalt soap (e.g. cobalt octylate) and dipyridyl (preferably 2,2'-dipyridyl) preferably in a cobalt metal/dipyridyl molar ratio of 0.5-2. The curing accelerator is added to a coating preferably in amounts of 0.01-0.2 pt.wt. (as cobalt) and 0.01-0.5 pt.wt., respectively, per 100 pts.wt. of nonvolatile resin components in the coating.</p> |
