A pivotable guard element on a bunk in a lorry, the bunk lying transversely in front of a rear wall of a driver's cab, comprises a guard part which can be pivoted by two pivoted levers from a not-in-use position into an operative position in which it rises up at a front edge of the bunk from the surface of the bunk. So that the guard element in the operative position offers protection from falling down over the entire length of the bunk and in a not-in-use position can be pivoted outside the climb-on region, the guard element is designed as a guard bow which fits around the bunk space in a U shape in the operative position, pivoted levers being connected at both ends to the guard part rising up along the length of the bunk, which pivoted levers are coupled, in the vicinity of the rear wall of the driver's cab, against this rear wall in a manner such that they can be pivoted up. |
