PURPOSE: To obtain a compsn. containing an imino deriv. of specified dihydroxy- etian aldehyde which inhibits a decomposing enzyme for Na<+> , K<+> -adenosine triphosphoric acid and shows significant antihypertensive effect. CONSTITUTION: This compsn. contains an imino deriv. of 3β,14β-dihydroxy-etian aldehyde expressed by the formula, its salt, solvate, geometric isomer, mixture of them, tautomer, or a mixture of them. In the formula, R is NHC(=O))NH2 , NHC(=NH)NH2 . The compd. of the formula is, for example, 17β- ureidoiminomethyl-5β-androstane-3β,14β-diol. The comdp. is obtd., for example, by dissolving semicarbazide hydrochloride and pyridine in water, adding a methanol soln. of 3β,14β-dihydroxyetion aldehyde to the soln. to react. The obtd. compd. of the formula is preferably orally administered.
