PURPOSE:To provide a production method of a ceramic honeycomb structure securing a prescribed outer diameter dimension and cylindricity. CONSTITUTION:A ceramic honeycomb body 1 obtained by extrusion is put a jig specifying a shape of the outside diameter after dried, and a ceramic slurry is poured between an outer peripheral wall 3 of the ceramic honeycomb body 1 after dried and the jig, and it is fired or the ceramic honeycomb body 1 obtained by extrusion is dried and fired, and then ceramic mortar is applied on the outer peripheral wall 3 of the ceramic honeycomb body after fired and is dried. Subsequently it is subjected to machining and then the ceramic honeycomb structure 6 constituted of the ceramic honeycomb body 1 and a coating layer at its outer periphery, is obtained. |
