<p>PURPOSE:To easily reduce the volume of an empty bottle by providing the bottle with a reinforcing winding part around its side face part. CONSTITUTION:The side face part 1 of the bottle is of a corrugated structure 4 and is provided with vertical creases or depressed and raised lines to afford a rigidity only sufficient to prevent an easy breakage of the grooves and ridges of the corrugated structure and, to reduce the volume of the bottle, the bottle is pressed down with fingers along the crease. The side face part 1 has a thin wall structure to facilitate the reduction of the bottle volume and, as an alternative, a soft material may be used in the formation thereof. The grooves 6 and the ridges 7 or depressed and raised parts may be formed into a spiral shape, so that the bottle can be twisted to crush it. A reinforcing winding part 3 is integrally wound around the side face part 1 with a rigidity only sufficient to prevent an inadvertent reduction in the bottle volume after unpacking. The reinforcing winding part 3 may integrally be engaged with an edge part 8 of the side face part 1 or a projection projecting therefrom and any other reinforcement may be used, so long as it is formed integrally with the bottle.</p> |
