PURPOSE:To provide a hydrogen producing device with the hydrogen generation efficiency, space efficiency, soundness of the device for thermal expansion, maintainability, etc., improved and capable of being easily enlarged in capacity. CONSTITUTION:A solid electrolyte cell stack 5 interposed between the upper and lower manifolds 3 and 4 and an electrode plate 6 for generating a potential difference in the vertical direction of the stack are provided in a vessel 2. The stack 5 is formed by laminating a solid electrolyte cell 12 obtained by holding an electrolyte sheet between a cathode having an air duct and an anode having a steam duct through a separator 11, an air passage communicating the air duct with the manifolds 3 and 4 and a steam passage communicating the steam duct with the manifolds 3 and 4 are provided to the cathode, anode, electrolyte sheet and separator 11, the oxygen ion in the superheated steam is moved into the air duct through the electrolyte sheet, and hydrogen is left in the steam and generated. |
