PURPOSE:To cut a large diameter pipe from its inner wall to outer wall easily by locating a rotary head in the pipe to be cut co-axially with it and rotating wire saws including hard cutting pieces arranged radially on the rotary head. CONSTITUTION:A rotary head 3 is connected to the output shaft of an electric motor 1 through a transmission device 2, and four pieces of wire saws 4 are installed radially on the outer periphery of the rotary head 3. The wire saws 4 are structured by fixing diamond abrasive chips 4b as a hard cutting piece onto stainless steel wires 4a. When a pipe to be cut 6 is cut, a holding device 5 is installed integrally on the electric motor 1, the top end of four support legs 5a capable of telescoping in radial direction by screw, fluid pressure, etc., is made in contact pressingly with the inner wall of the pipe 6, and the electric motor 1 is located in the pipe 6 roughly co-axially with it. In this condition, the rotary head 3, i.e., the wire saws 4 are rotated by the electric motor 1 to cut the pipe 6 from an inner wall to an outer wall by the abrasive chips 4b. |
