PRODUCTION OF FIBER-REINFORCED THERMOSETTING RESIN PRODUCT

PURPOSE: To produce a reinforced thermosetting resin product containing one or more kind of a fiber formed of a curable molding compsn. and having an m.p. or glass transition temp. exceeding a specific value and showing improved surface state quality as a whole. CONSTITUTION: A fiber reinforced thermosetting resin product is produced from a curable molding compsn. which contains a mixture of poly(acrylate), a polymerizable ethylenic unsaturated monomer having function crosslinking poly(acrylate) to form the same into a thermoset product, at least one of (i) one or more kind of a crosslinkable vinyl monomer wherein a reactivity ratio (r1 ) with styrene is larger than 1, (ii) an epoxy compd. having at least one 1,2-epoxy group per molecule and (iii) unsaturated fatty acid ester and a thermoplastic polymer low profile additive by an extremely quick injection molding process. This process is typically completed within below about 2 min from the curing start time of the resin mixture.
