<p>PURPOSE:To obtain the subject compound in high purity and yield by reacting 4-isopropenylphenol and/or its linear polymer with aniline in the presence of diethyl sulfate. CONSTITUTION:The objective 2-(4-hydroxyphenyl)-2-(4'-aminophenyl)-propane expressed by formula is produced by reacting 4-isopropenylphenol and/or its linear polymer with aniline at 100-200 deg.C in the presence of diethyl sulfate as a catalyst. The 4-isopropenylphenol unit and the aniline are used at a molar ratio of 2-10 and the amount of the diethyl sulfate is 0.05-1.0wt.% based on the reaction system. The compound of formula is useful as a raw, material for antioxidants, stabilizers and high molecular compounds and an intermediate raw material for dyes, pigments, agrichemicals, pharmaceuticals, etc.</p> |
