PURPOSE:To obtain an artificial skin and wound coating material wherein skin reaction such as erythema is not generated with respect to normal skin and wounded skin and proliferation of tissue cells of skin is not disturbed by using an aliphatic polyester represented by a repeating unit shown by a specific chemical formula. CONSTITUTION:This artificial skin and wound coating material are formed using aliphatic polyester represented by repeating unit shown by the formula, where (x) in the formula is an integer of zero or more; (y), (z) is an integer one or more; R is hydrogen atom, saturated aliphatic hydrocarbon group, unsaturated aliphatic hydrocarbon group, saturated aliphatic hydrocarbon group having at its terminal either one of functional groups, i.e., halogen atom or hydroxyl group, carboxyl group, sulfonic acid group, amino group. Such aliphatic polyester is synthesized by bacteria or by a chemical synthesis process. This aliphatic polyester may be a mixture with another polymer, or a composite material of the polyester and collagen can be utilized. |
