PURPOSE:To readily effect lateral regist adjustment by adjusting an image writing start position in a main scanning direction upon reception of a set output from setting means which serves for setting a target value of the image writing start position in the main scanning direction in an image forming device. CONSTITUTION:A volume control unit 21 is setting means for setting an image writing start position in a main scanning direction in a printer, and a CPU 27 which is control means is provided in a printer body 1. When adjusting (lateral regist adjustment) an image writing start position in the main scanning direction, an opening and closing door 15 is opened and the volume control unit 21 is rotated for changing of a resistance value of a volume 25. The thus set output is fed to a G/A unit 28 through the CPU 27 when the opening and closing door 15 is closed and interlock switches 22a, 22b are switched off, so that LSYNC and LGATE are adjusted in rise to effect lateral regist adjustment. As a result, the lateral regist adjustment is readily effected by the volume control unit 21 which can be manually rotated. |
