PURPOSE:To reduce time for regenerating a tire vulcanizing mold by a method wherein when a tire vulcanizing mold contaminated by an adhesion of a rubber- like substance of a tire is rotated to be cleaned by being sprayed with cleaning powder, a heated organic solvent is supplied to the mold before spraying the cleaning powder. CONSTITUTION:It is preferable that a mold M to be cleaned is preheated to 80 deg.C or higher, pref. 120 deg.C or thereabouts. While the mold M is rotated by a mold rotating device 3 in a shielding body 2, the mold M is sprayed with an organic solvent from a spray nozzle 41. As the organic solvent, a hydrocarbon solvent having a boiling point of 200-300 deg.C and a flashing point of 90-150 deg.C is preferably used. After spraying for a prescribed time, cleaning powder is sprayed in a next process. A rubber-like substance adhering to the mold M can be effectively removed in a remarkably short time because it is softened by the organic solvent in a preheated state. |
