PURPOSE:To improve the shock resistance of a pot storing part for storing a pot and to prevent abnormal heating of the part in an electric rice cooker adapted to induction-heat a pot by an induction coil. CONSTITUTION:A pot storing part is formed by a metallic protective frame frame side part 4 and a resin protective frame base part 3. An induction coil 11 for induction-heating a pot 2 is provided on the protective frame base 3. The uppermost part of the induction coil 11 is positioned lower than the lowermost part of the protective frame side part 4, and the metallic protective frame side part 4 is checked from being heated by the magnetic flux of the induction coil 11 so that the resin protective frame base 3 is prevented from being deformed by heat. The protective frame side part 4 with which the pot collides when it is put in and out is made of metal so as to increase its strength.
