PURPOSE:To provide a color ink jet recording device wherein a structure of a device is simplified and made to be compact in size as a whole and wiring is simplified. CONSTITUTION:In a color ink jet recording device, ink is made to fly selectively to a recording paper 2 from ink exhaust nozzles of a plurality of record heads 1Y, 1M, 1C and 1B for color printing. At the record heads 1Y, 1M, 1C, and 1B, a plurality of recording electrodes, a common electrode connected to a high voltage power source, and photoconductive films for energizing the canon electrode and the recording electrodes with light irradiation are provided. A magazine 9 in which the record heads 1Y, 1M, 1C, 1B are held and the ink exhaust nozzle moves only one record head selectively to a recording position opposing an electrode drum 3 through the recording paper 2, an LED array 10 for applying light signal to the photoconductive films of the record heads 1Y, 1M, 1C, 1B at the recording position, and a moving means 11 for moving the array 10 to an irradiation position near the photoconductive films of the record head at the recording position and to a retracted position are provided. |
