<p>PURPOSE:To fix a tool in a rotation direction and switch it to a rotatable balancing state, in a steering column assembling device for an automobile assembling line. CONSTITUTION:A frame 14 for a tool 5 is rotatably supported on the member 4c of an arm by means of a pin 13. Stopper bolts 18 and 19 are arranged on the frame 15 with the pin 13 nipped therebetween. An air cylinder 24 is arranged on the frame 15 and a guide 25 is coupled to a rod 24a. The column body W1 of a steering column W is placed on the holders 22 and 23 of the frame 15. By bending an intermediate shaft W2 through expansion and contraction of the rod 24a, the center of gravity of the tool 5 is displaced to the rear of the pin 13 and the frame 15 is rotated. A stopper bolt 18 is brought into contact with a support member 12 fixed to a member 4c and the tool 5 is fixed. When an intermediate shaft W2 is expanded through expansion of the rod 24a and placed on a guide 25, the center of gravity of the tool 5 is displaced to a position above the pin 13 and the tool is rotatably balanced. When the arm is moved, the tool 5 is fixed to improve workability.</p> |
