PURPOSE:To provide a compact intermediate shaft coupling having sufficient strength by faucet-coupling the end sections of an upper shaft and a lower shaft, pinching the protruded stripe sections of both shafts with a two-piece ring, coupling the female serration section of a sleeve with serration sections of both shafts and the ring, and fixing the ring with a set bolt. CONSTITUTION:A sleeve 40 is fitted to an upper shaft 1, a coupling shaft section 6 is faucet-coupled, the half section 30a of a two-piece ring 30 is covered and pinched on protruded stripe sections 4, 13 and cylinder sections 5, 14 in the X-direction, and a positioning groove 34 is matched with the position of a set bolt 43. The sleeve 40 is lowered in the Y-direction, the lower end face is hooked on a barrel section 11, a female serration section 41 is coupled with serration sections 3, 12 of shafts 1, 10, the inner periphery of the length L1 of the female serration section 41 is coupled with the outer periphery of the two-piece ring 30, the set bolt 43 is fastened, and the sleeve 40 is fixed via the groove 34. Torque is transmitted via the serration sections 3, 41, 12, and the torque is dispersed.
