An electrical slide switch contains an extendible actuator mechanism. The actuator mechanism is initially flash with the housing, in an inactive position, and can be extended outwardly from the housing and locked in an active switching position after the switch is inverted into a printed circuit board. The actuator is movable along a guide ramp from the inactive position to the active position in which the actuator button and control carrier are locked together for further movement.
