发明名称 PRODUCTION OF N-ALKYLPIPERAZINE
摘要 PURPOSE:To readily obtain an N-alkylpiperazine which is an extremely useful intermediate for synthesizing an antimicrobial agent, other medicines, etc., in high selectivity and yield according to relatively simple operation. CONSTITUTION:Piperazine is made to react with an alcohol in the presence of at least one selected from the group consisting of activated alumina and zeolite at a temperature within the range of 200-450 deg.C, preferably 250-400 deg.C in an atmosphere of an inert diluting gas (preferably nitrogen or hydrogen) to afford the objective N-alkylpiperazine. The alcohol is used in a molar amount of 2-5 times based on the piperazine. The solution after completing the reaction is then dehydrated with a drying agent such as sodium sulfate or silica gel and the dehydrated solution can be rectified to afford the N-alkylpiperazine following a fraction of the unreacted piperazine.
