The syringe consists of a tube (1) with an inner channel (12) designed to receive a straw (2) containing the semen dose, and an elongated piston (4) which is able to slide within the tube and expel the semen. The tube has a convergent tip (11) at one end to hole the straw, equipped with an outlet (14), and a bush (3) which acts as a holder at the other end. The piston is also equipped with a cylindrical holder (6), and the tube has an inner sleeve (5) with an outer diameter which is between the inner diameters of the tube and the straw. The sleeve is designed to press against the other end of the straw and hold it in position against the tip of the tube, while the piston can travel through it and eject the semen. The bush (3) and holder (6) are made from an elastomer such as Kraton (RTM), the inner sleeve is of polyethylene, and all the components are sterile. ADVANTAGE - More convenient to use, disposable after single use.
