The surface-skimming wing (1) for a sailing craft is attached symmetrically to the bottom of the hull (4), at a positive angle of attack (ALPHA) to the surface of the water. The angle is controlled by the rudder (3) which carries an adjustable submerged plane (2) regulating the pitch attitude of the hull and the wing. The keel plates (6) are fitted with a water recirculating anti-cavitation device. The transverse stabilising beam (7), carrying floats (5) with horizontal planes is attached to the screw's working deck, and can tilt relative to the hull, controlled by halyards (50). The mast (9) is held in the same vertical plane as the hull by wires (51) and stretchers (53) with tensioners (56). ADVANTAGE - A narrow hull is made to ride smoothly over rough water, with reduced drag from the water and improved efficiency of the sails.
