The method includes a drain device (14) being fitted into a water hose at the lowest point of the circuit, and compressed air being connected to the radiator opening resp. the expansion vessel. A plug, which may be expanded by levers, and has a pressure limiter, is fitted into the radiator opening. A hollow awl is put into the water hose. The awl consists of a sealed tip (15) and a tubular body (14) with passages. It carries a knurled screw (17) to adjust the position of the passages. The awl also has a grip and a drain hose.
