(Aza)cycloalkyl or (aza)aromatic carboxylic acid derivs. of formula A-B-C'-D-E-COORa (I) and their salts and isomers are new. Ra = H or ester residue, A = opt. substd. aminoalkyl opt. substd. azacycloalkyl, quinuclidinyl or pyridyl, B = opt. substd. phenylene (opt. with 1 or 2 CH replaced by N) or piperidylene, C' = CO, CH=CH, CH2CH2, CH2O, OCH2, CONR4, CONR4CH2, NR4CO, CH2NR4, NR4CH2, SO2NR4, SO2NR4CH2 or NR4SO2, R4 = e.g. H, alkyl or phenylalkyl, D = phenylene or cyclohexylene (both opt. substd. and opt. contg. 1 or 2 aza units), E = direct bond, alkyleneoxy opt. substd. alkylene or opt. substd., alkylene. USE - The use of (I) is claimed for preparing medicaments for combatting or preventing diseases involving larger or smaller cell aggregate formation or cell-matrix interactions. (I) show antiinflammatory, bone degradation inhibiting, antithrombotic, anti-aggregation, antitumour and anti-metastasis activity. (I) are useful for treatment or prophylaxis of venous or arterial thrombosis, cerebrovascular disorders, pulmonary embolism, cardiac infarct, arteriosclerosis, osteoporosis, tumour metastasis or genetic or other disorders of interactions of cells with each other or with solid structure. (I) may also be used in combination therapy of thrombosis with fibrinolytics or vascular intervention (e.g. transluminal angioplasty), or for therapy of shock states, psoriasis, inflammation and diabetes.
