The connecting apparatus includes a bolting determining element (C) which is released from the socket connector housing (A) when it is connected to the plug connector housing (B). A short-circuit element (4) short circuits the contacts (6) admitted to the admission chambers (5) of the socket connector housing when the respective connector housings (A, B) are separated. The contacts (6') of the plug connector housing are connected with a bolting condition-determining circuit when the respective connector housings are in the bolted condition. USE/ADVANTAGE - For airbag circuits. Has simple structure.
