The air conditioning housing has a shaped blower mounting with a diverging duct (25) leading to the unit. The vacuum reservoir (3) is shaped to fit into the space between the blower and the duct, and is preassembled to the air conditioning unit before mounting into the vehicle. The vacuum servo operates the flaps and other controls in the unit. The vacuum reservoir is made as a separate unit and has a shaped wall to attach to the air conditioning unit. The supply line from the engine inlet manifold to the reservoir contains the non-return valve. ADVANTAGE - The complete unit can be bench-tested before fitting to the vehicle. The vacuum reservoir is mounted in a protected site and requires no additional mountings.
