A plant with floating elements (1, 4, 5), for waste water and sludge treatment and for gas prodn. is new. (a) the walls of the elements (gas accumulator (1), gas collector, water collector (5) and pontoon (4)) consist of a plastics sandwich construction; (b) hollow wall chambers can be (partially) filled with ballast to adjust the floating level of the elements; and (c) the elements (1, 4, 5) are free-floating in a receptacle (pond (7)) while being secured against sideways displacement. USE/ADVANTAGE - Used in bio-gas prodn.. The plant is simple and safe to instal and has minimal investment.
