In the double fourdrinier section of a papermaking machine, the roller forming a deflection point for one of the fourdriniers has a polished and solid roller mantle. At the zone where the fourdriniers pass round deflections, the outer fourdrinier is led off at a gap from the end of the deflection zone, away from the web and the inner fourdrinier. USE/ADVANTAGE - The double fourdrinier section is for the conversion of a fibre suspension into a paper web, esp. as a layer for a multi-layer paper or cardboard web. The appts. prevents the formation of a notched water line.
