The bottom of the filler pipe (4) extends a little way into the fuel tank (2) and has the valve attached using clip fasteners. The valve body (12) is cylindrical with vertical slots. The valve seal (14) slides inside the slotted cylinder and floats up to seal the filler when the tank is full, or when there is back-pressure. The seal has a conical shape apex towards the filler pipe. Tags (18) around the seal slide in the slots. The valve body has ratchet grips (28) to clip into holes in the rim of the filler pipe. USE/ADVANTAGE - The non-return valve for a vehicle fuel tank filler is simply fitted to the filler pipe to prevent fuel being thrown back by back-pressure.
