Water, partic. intended for watering irrigation and washing, is subjected sequentially to the action of a magnetic field and to carbonation. Pref. the water is first passed through a magnetisation device where a slightly elevated magnetic field changes its polarity, then into a mixer where it is charged with CO2 under pressure (partic. 0.1-4 g/l). USE/ADVANTAGE - The treated water is useful in agriculture, laundry and dish washing machines, water heaters, industrial bleaching etc. The treatment increases the capacity of the water to dissolve detergent, inorganic salts (partic CaCO3) and agricultural treatment products. It also imparts sufficient acidity to prevent hydrolysis of some active ingredients, and effluents produced using the water can be recycled. When used for bleaching, the treated water improves the effect of the bleach so reduces the amt. needed.
