The passenger seat is esp. adapted for use in an aircraft. It has cruciform support legs (10) with lower ends fastened to the floor of the aircraft and their upper ends fastened to a one-piece seat (13) and back (14) assembly. The seat is pivoted (15) to the support frame at its front edge, and there is a variable height support mechanism (16,17) at the junction of the seat (13) with the back (14). This enables the degree of tilt of the seat and back to be altered. The arms (11) are attached to the sides of the seat back assembly.
