The resonator has a dielectric cylinder (2) arranged in a housing (1) and a dielectric body (5) which can be inserted into a recess (4) of the cylinder (2), the insertion depth of the dielectric body (5), on which the resonant frequency of the resonator depends, being adjustable by means of a support (6) which is fastened on the dielectric body (5) and extends outside the housing (1). The recess (4) is arranged off-centre in the dielectric cylinder (2), to be precise at a location where the electric field strength is as high as possible. Under these conditions, a support (6) made of metal can be used, without the quality of the resonator being thereby detrimentally affected.
