A local area network interface assembly includes an outlet box (2) for receiving a connector assembly therein. The outlet box (2) is profiled to receive, from the rear thereof, an edge card connector (150) which is a snap fit into the outlet box (2). The connector assembly is fitted with an edge card which is profiled for receipt within the edge card connector (150). The outlet box (2) is formed of a dielectric material which is plated over with a metallic plating. It has a rear ledge beneath which are located, at opposite sides of the box, cable receiving openings (80). Grounding lugs (60) are integrally moulded with the box adjacent to the cable receiving openings and a grounding clip (140) mounted on the rear ledge urges the shielding braid of a shielded cable entering the box through one of the openings (80) into contact with a grounding lug (60). <IMAGE> |
