PURPOSE:To provide an information recording medium having a high sensitivity and high contrast ratio by applying a specific soln. mixture onto an electrode layer, then irradiating the coating with UV rays, thereby forming an information recording layer consisting of a liquid crystal layer and the UV curing resin phase on the electrode layer. CONSTITUTION:The soln. mixture contg. a liquid crystal, UV curing resin forming material, photopolymn. initiator and surfactant is applied onto an electrode layer 13' and thereafter, the coating is irradiated with the radiations shielding IR rays and is thereby cured while the electrode layer is heated to the isotropic phase transition point of this liquid crystal or above, by which the information recording layer 11 consisting of the liquid crystal layer and the UV curing resin phase is formed on the electrode layer 13'. While a smectic liquid crystal, nematic liquid crystal, cholesteric liquid crystal or mixture composed of these liquid crystals is usable for the liquid crystal of this case, the smectic liquid crystal is preferably used in terms of so-called a memory characteristic to maintain the orientation property of the liquid crystal and to permanently maintain the information. |
