PURPOSE:To prevent deformation of the reflection surfaces of a rotating polygon mirror caused by tightening force and heat at the time of assembly, with simple constitution. CONSTITUTION:The optical deflector for deflecting a light bean by a rotating polygon mirror and scanning the surface of a photosensitive body with this light beam is constituted by integrally forming boss parts 2 onto the mounting surfaces of the rotary polygon mirror 1, inserting these boss parts 2 into the holes formed in the collar part 3a of a rotating body 3 and deforming the boss parts 2 by ultrasonic waves, heat or pressure, thereby fixing the rotary polygon mirror 1 to the collar parts 3a. |
