PURPOSE:To eliminate the inconvenience at the time when brackets are separately fitted, and also to enhance assembling workability by forming brackets integrally with core-material resin on the outer circumferential part and/or on the rear surface of an instrument panel that has been made up by integrally sticking a skin material on the surface of a thermoplastic resin core material. CONSTITUTION:In manufacturing an instrument panel 3, first, a skin material 1 that has been preliminarily formed in a prescibed shape is retained by the vacuum suction or the like through a vacuum suction passage 13 so as to be put on along the metal mold surface of a female mold 5 in such a condition that a pair of male and female metal molds 5, 6 which have been mold-designed to obtain a desired instrument panel shape having brackets 4 have been opened, and then in this condition, the female mold 5 is lowered up to a proper position. Next, after molten thermoplastic resin 8 (not shown) has been supplied between the skin material 1 and the male mold 5 through a resin supply passage 7, the female mold 5 is lowered for tightening the molds so as to provide a form to the molten resin 8, and at the same time the skin material 1 is stuck on the surface of a thermoplastic resin core material 2 (not shown). Thereafter, bolt holes 11 are formed in the respective ends of brackets 4 at both ends of the formed product taken out from the molds. |
